Morris and Campbell is a commercial brokerage company specializing in the marketing of commercial land and shopping centers in San Diego and Riverside counties in California. The principals of the firm, Mike Morris and Kay Campbell, established the company in 1993 and have worked together for over twenty-five years. As a team, they have completed twenty major tenant-anchored shopping centers and numerous smaller shopping centers.
Morris and Campbell primarily represent landowners and experienced shopping center developers in the marketing of land for sale and development. Morris and Campbell also represent retailers, such as Home Depot, which it exclusively represents in San Diego County. Other retailers it represents are Walgreens (through Evergreen Development Company) and Albertsons.
In 2004, Morris and Campbell completed the 8-acre Albertsons-anchored Torrey Highlands Village Center in Torrey Highlands at SR-56 and Camino del Sur in San Diego. They initially represented a homebuilder in selling the commercial property. Subsequently they represented McMillin Commercial, buyer of the property, in leasing and investment sale of the project. This shopping center opened in July 2004. Morris and Campbell also represented McMillin Commercial in the acquisition of 50 acres in Oceanside and subsequently represented them in the marketing of Quarry Creek, a 35-acre project anchored by Albertsons, Kohl's and Wal-Mart. This project opened in September 2004. In 2001, Morris and Campbell represented the owner of the property in the sale of 65 acres in San Diego to Cousins MarketCenters, Inc. and subsequently marketed to completion Mira Mesa MarketCenter, a 60-acre mixed-use project anchored by Edwards Cinemas, Home Depot, Barnes & Noble, Old Navy Clothing, Ross, Albertsons and Longs.
In 1998 Morris and Campbell completed the marketing of Scripps Ranch Marketplace, a 16-acre project developed by McMillin Companies in Scripps Ranch. This project, anchored by Vons and CVS, opened in April 1998. The State of Hawaii Public Employees Pension Fund purchased the property, and Morris and Campbell represented both the buyer and the seller in the transaction.
In 1997, Morris and Campbell marketed North County Square, a 65-acre project in Vista anchored by Target, Wal-Mart, Office Depot, PetsMart, Ross, Michaels, Old Navy Clothing, and Babies R Us. In 2002, Morris and Campbell represented the developer in the sale of this project to Steadfast Properties. Park Valley Center, an 18-acre shopping center in Mission Valley in San Diego was initiated by Morris and Campbell when they represented Sunbelt Management Company in the acquisition of the 18 acres from the City of San Diego. Morris and Campbell thereafter marketed the shopping center for Sunbelt Management. This project, which is anchored by Off 5th, Best Buy, and Staples was also completed in 1997.
Mike Morris specializes in the marketing of land for sale, conceptual planning of proposed projects, and land acquisition for major retailers.
Kay Campbell specializes in leasing building area to credit and non-credit tenants. The team participates in site planning, building area design and leasing freestanding building pad areas.
